Tracee Ellis Ross Shared the Hilarious Story Behind Her Fake Birkin Bag in These Old Fit Pics

Tracee Ellis Ross has the kind of style that simply sparks joy. She's never been afraid of a big, bold print or bright burst of color and manages to look badass in everything she puts on. Recent throwback photos prove she's always expressed herself creatively through her fashion choices, dating back to her 20s. I mean, she grew up with a glamorous fashion icon as her mom, so I can't say I'm surprised. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Black-ish star shared a few nostalgic pictures to her Instagram, offering details and even fun stories behind her looks.

In one polaroid from a fitting in 2002, Tracee is dressed for a post-Emmys party, wearing a Pegah Anvarian tunic and pants paired with a vintage Judith Leiber belt that she still has to this day. But the real highlight is the Birkin Tracee's holding in the shot, which she admits is fake. "That is the only birkin I've owned and it is a fake 😂 one time I packed it for a trip and when I opened the suitcase, the little latch for the lock broke off. So I crazy glued it back on 😂😂😂," she wrote. Hey, we appreciate the honesty!

In another photo prior to the Soul Train Music Awards that same year, she's rocking head-to-toe Missoni in a fun printed number I could see Tracee wearing today. "I still have the legs (you know I keep everything) but they do not quite look the same 🙃😒," she joked. She also shared an additional snap from the mid '90s when she was 21 or 22 years old, wearing another bold print, but this time on a swimsuit. While her style may have evolved over the years, it's clear the actress has always been a fan of vibrant, joyful looks. Get a closer look at Tracee's throwback fits ahead.
